ESHO Gate of Heaven Primary School

ESHO Gate of Heaven Primary School was proposed in Uganda’s Pader District to give a growing rural community more dependable space for education. The design focuses on the fundamentals that determine whether a classroom works: protection from sun and rain, daylight without glare, air movement, safe circulation, and a construction system local builders can maintain. Classrooms are arranged as a coherent small campus rather than temporary rooms added one at a time, leaving outdoor areas for assembly, play, and informal teaching.

Journeyman International’s role was to translate the school’s program and expected growth into a practical architectural framework that could be phased as funding allowed. The project archive is limited and does not provide a readable final book or verify construction, so this account intentionally avoids unproven capacity and impact claims. ESHO’s story is the value of dependable basics—a school environment designed so teachers can focus on teaching and children can learn in spaces that are safer, calmer, and better adapted to the local climate.
