Overlooking Lake Muhazi, Nandi Farm Estate is envisioned as an agro-tourism destination that continues to operate as a farm rather than replacing agriculture with hospitality. Cattle, crops, and productive landscape remain central to the guest experience, while lodging, outdoor recreation, and cultural storytelling create new sources of work and income. Buildings are planned to sit lightly on the hilltop, preserve long views, and draw from Rwandan material and spatial traditions without turning them into scenery. Paths connect visitors to farm activities with boundaries that protect both operations and privacy.
Journeyman International’s proposal supports local employment and hospitality training while giving the owners a phased framework for development. The archive confirms the land and concept but does not verify construction, so Nandi remains a farm-stay proposal. Its central design principle is authenticity through continuity: guests encounter a living agricultural place, and tourism adds value to the farm and its stories instead of displacing the practices that made the landscape meaningful.
