A hilltop farm stay that keeps agriculture at the center.
Overlooking Lake Muhazi, Nandi Farm Estate is envisioned as an agro-tourism destination that continues to operate as a farm rather than replacing agriculture with hospitality. Cattle, crops, and productive landscape remain central to the guest experience, while lodging, outdoor recreation, and cultural storytelling create new sources of work and income. Buildings are planned to sit lightly on the hilltop, preserve long views, and draw from Rwandan material and spatial traditions without turning them into scenery.
Paths connect visitors to farm activities with boundaries that protect both operations and privacy. Journeyman International’s proposal supports local employment and hospitality training while giving the owners a phased framework for development. Hospitality is planned to add income while keeping the farm and its agricultural work active.
