A tropical school planned around shade, gathering, and gradual growth.
The Papua New Guinea Christian School was proposed in Port Moresby as a dedicated campus for education, faith-based programs, and community life. Classrooms are arranged with shaded outdoor circulation and shared gathering space, using cross-ventilation, high roofs, and rain protection to respond to a hot, wet tropical climate. Simple, repeatable building bays allow the school to grow in phases and remain buildable with locally available methods.
Sanitation, safe access, play, and staff support are treated as essential campus infrastructure rather than secondary additions. Journeyman International’s role was to help turn the partner’s educational ambition into a coherent proposal. The campus is planned to expand without losing shaded teaching areas or the shared spaces used by the school community.
