Take Heart Africa Primary School was proposed in Migori County to expand access to dignified education for children whose circumstances can make consistent schooling difficult. Developed through collaboration with Cal Poly, the project centers a secure, welcoming campus shaped around local needs rather than a transplanted school model. Classrooms, sheltered circulation, outdoor learning, sanitation, and places for teachers and students to gather would need to work together as one resilient environment. Climate-responsive shade and ventilation, durable materials, and construction that local teams can understand are essential to keeping the school comfortable and maintainable over time.
