A nursery school with protected outdoor learning space
Under His Umbrella School was proposed in Musenyi as a rural nursery where young children can begin learning close to home. At this scale, architecture matters through simple, repeated acts: a shaded place to arrive, a bright and ventilated classroom, child-sized sanitation, secure outdoor play, and a sheltered edge where caregivers and teachers can meet. The school’s program is modest, but it establishes the routines and social confidence that prepare children for primary education.
Durable construction, natural ventilation, rain protection, and materials that local workers can repair would be central to keeping the building comfortable and useful within a limited operating budget. The school remains an early proposal. The school would provide a dependable place close to home for children to play and learn.
