NIGERIA: ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION CENTER BY MAIMBA

Local Nigerian NGO, the Bramble Network, aims to build classrooms for children and young people at the first alternative learning space in Arikanki village. The project is located in Arikanki village. For as long as the community has existed, there is no school or any educational facility for the population of children living there. Bramble created the first alternative learning space in this community in 2019. Designer Maimba from Kenya conducted extensive research on the social, cultural and environmental context of the school before designing a space that will foster a healthy learning environment for years to come.
